About our Facility

The MLC Garvan Flow Cytometry Facility was named in February 2010 and has been providing a Cell Sorting and Analysis service since 2005.

Early 2011 saw the installation and opening of the world’s first 7-laser BDInflux™ Cell Sorter. Following that a matching 7-laser SORP LSRII was installed. Currently housing 3 Cell Sorters, 6 Analytical Flow Cytometers, Cytospins and FlowJo Workstations we can now offer users across the Sydney research precinct expertise and flow equipment with up to 19 fluorescent parameters , 21 detector options, high speed Cell Sorting, PC2 certification and small particle detection.

Our team of 3 experienced operators work hard at maintaining a very high standard of Flow Cytometry services and strive to be one of Australia’s finest core facilities; excelling in service, advanced instrumentation, technical expertise and providing innovative, accurate and most importantly efficient cell sorting services.
